Importing Contacts into Outlook

Importing Contacts into MS Outlook:

1)Open Oulook
2) Click on File Menu
3) Import/Export
4) Select-Import from another program or file

5) Click Next

6) Select the file type that your going to be importing from.  You can import from Access, Excel, Windows Mail/Outlook Express, and more.

7) Click Next

8) Click browse and search for the file that your going to be inporting, or you can also just type the path in by hand.
9) Select how you want Outlook to handle duplicates.  Your options are replacing the contact with the contact being imported allowing the duplicate to be created, or not importing any dupkicate infromation.  Typically, you will want to chose, option 3 "Do not import duplicate items.

10) Click Next

11) I would strongly advise to click on Map Custom Fields, and just make sure that all of the fields are maped properly.  If not then skip to step 12

12) Click on "Finish"

The import wizard may take a few minutes to run, but after it's done you should have all your contacts in the coresponding folder.
